Hip Hip Hooray

Today the publishers sent us what the cover of the book will look like. The book is beginning to feel like a real tangible thing! Now I can get started doing the web site for the book which will be a lot easier.

Writing a book is a long hurry up and wait process and the emotions you go through with a first time book is very interesting. Actually Sandra and I were over-prepared in some areas so we did make the process more intense than it had to be. Oh well, two less publishing virgins!

Pink Challenge

I have heard from a few of you regarding the challenge and I am hoping you all creative something wonderful and pink so I can post it here. Once again, creative a painting or collage with the primary color of pink. Seems like a tough one but remember all the shades of pink!

Cold Days, Warm Art

Strange that I can't take cold and snow anymore. I am so ready to move to the Equator. In the winter I want to paint with a brighter color palette and add palm trees in my art. Does anyone else feel that way? Even parties don't sound so good as I have to leave the house and freeze coming and going.

This is the downloadable calendar page for February that will be on my website and newsletter on January 1 is Hootcha Hula with thoughts of Hawaii, palm trees and tropical breezes!!! It is my way of sending everyone warm thoughts for this holiday season.

Odd Thoughts

I have started on a circus of oddities series. Sorry, nothing to show yet. It is a self imposed challenge. One year the challenge was a painting a day for a month but like an idiot I picked December which is the busiest month. The first two weeks were fabulous then it became work but I learned alot about myself. OK, here is my challenge to you - create a square piece with pink as the predominant color. I will post them in one of my February blogs.

Will start working on some new YouTube videos after the first of the year - a second demented gold leaf one and a mind blowing image transfer one that will also be in the book whenever it comes out.

Subscribe to my E-Newsletter and you get a tips, techniques and a free calendar for the following month with techniques used.

Holiday Thoughts

I did too much driving over Thanksgiving. Santa Fe to Tucson to Scottsdale and back. But saw great scenery, good friends, and ate great food.

Today I have been thinking about my friend, Lena Bartula, who lives a beautiful house in Pozos, Mexico. She left Santa Fe years ago and is always in my thoughts. Here is one of her pieces.

Sent out my first e-newsletter this week. A few bugs but overall very well received. I have a new calender page every month with a piece art and techniques used plus tips and techniques.

Had a great dream last night where I was ironing gold leaf onto a piece of art. Immediately tried to google it this morning and came up blank. Too bad, as it sounded very interesting.
