The Finish Line

On December 1, I showed you a painting, Abundance, that was blocked in and said I would show you it again when it was done. Well, here is the finished version of the piece. There are image transfers, painting, glazing, collaging and a jewel or two. It was my piece to enter the New Year with.

Today I played around with encaustics with a friend and decided the only thing I really liked about it was carving into it. I would rather do a fake encaustic with gels. I am proud of myself since I only started one fire.

I just received a copy of your book "Image Transfer Workshop" - I LOVE IT!. I left a review on Amazon. Unlike so many art instruction books, which can be long on inspiration, but short on instruction, this is a sucess on both counts.
Thank you for leaving lots of white space, keeping the text relevant and minimal, the photos meaningful - love, love it. I'm inspired to try all the techniques.

Beautiful collage Darlene. Was this done on canvas? Nice way to start the new year.

This is fabulous. How did you get the facial image to blend with the other features of the piece? Happy creating!
