10,000 Hours

They say it takes 10,000 hours to become a master in whatever field that you are in.  Most successful, full time working artists create about 65-100 pieces a year (of course, it depends on size, yada, yada) So here I am just plugging along trying to do both. I usually work on 5 pieces at a time because of drying time for all of my layers.

Behind the Mask, 8" x8", is much smaller than I have worked in quite awhile so it was a bit of a challenge. It made me laugh as I remembered the first time I did a huge piece. It was the shock of all the paint it used and making an image work on a larger level. We all have comfort zones.
